Project Description

Bill Bone is a past president and a current member of the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches, Florida’s largest non-partisan, public affairs organization, founded in the mid-1970s when its first speaker was President Jimmy Carter. Annually, the Forum Club convenes a dozen lunchtime events. Recent speakers Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta have drawn full houses, and event tickets are available to the public. Past speakers have included Supreme Court justices Antonin Scalia and Sonia Sotomayor, historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, and television journalists Hoda Kotb, Lester Holt, and Chris Matthews.

The Forum Club is a not-for-profit organization, the purpose of which is to “inform and educate the community’s social, business, and political interest and promote a more active participation by all citizens in the democratic process.” Membership in the Forum Club typifies Bill Bone’s civic engagement: He is committed to non-partisan debate to build an understanding of political issues and public affairs, recognizing that such knowledge is foundational to individuals’ participation in community affairs.
