2nd Annual BillBone Olympic Triathlon

The Second Annual BillBone Olympic Triathlon 2026 Saw Record Turnout at Okeeheelee Park

On April 12, Bill Bone Law Group hosted its Second Annual Olympic Distance Triathlon at Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach. Trial lawyer and cycling advocate Bill Bone sponsored the event, which ran from 7 to 11 a.m. and was patterned on the success of the inaugural race.

BillBone Olympic Triathlon 2026

This year’s field included Team USA’s Kevin McDowell, a Tokyo 2020 silver medalist, along with returning favorites Kirsten Kasper (2024 Paris Olympian) and Matthew Sharpe (Canadian Olympian and IRONMAN champion).

Athletes from across the region gathered to compete in a USAT-sanctioned course that catered to both elite professionals and first-time triathletes.

The morning included a complimentary breakfast for all participants and guests, hosted by the Boy Scout Troop 812. As previously noted by Palm Beach Illustrated, the race highlights the commitment of  Bill Bone to promote an active, health-conscious lifestyle within our community.

Personal Message From Bill Bone

Thank you to all the members of our community who have shared their concern with me about the triathletes injured in last Sunday’s Olympic Distance Triathlon in West Palm Beach.

On behalf of the cycling and multisport community, we are all in shock about the incident which occurred during the race. As a triathlete myself, this was not something I imagined could happen and my thoughts and heart are with the two athletes and their families as they fight to recover. The Sherrif’s office is conducting an investigation, so it is not appropriate for us to speculate what happened at this stage.

I would like to thank the race staff, volunteers and emergency service personnel for everything they did on Sunday.

The triathlon community is made up of the strongest and most resilient people I know. I stand with the community, the athletes and their families.

For those who are moved to offer support, the family and friends of one of the athletes have started a GoFundMe to support her recovery. Here is the link.
