Project Description

For two decades, the Bill Bone Tropical Triathlon has been the City of Lake Worth’s featured athletic event, bringing together seasoned tri-athletes and newcomers of all ages to compete outdoors.  The race is a USA Triathlon-sanctioned sprint—that’s a 0.25-mile swim, followed by 13 miles on the bike, capped by a 5K run.  But the course is what makes the Bill Bone Tropical Triathlon so special: The race starts at dawn, facing east on the Lake Worth Beach, proceeds from the barrier island to the mainland via the Intracoastal bridge, tours quaint downtown Lake Worth, and winds up with views of the local Snook Island nature preserve and historic neighborhoods dating from the 1920s.  Bill Bone is the title sponsor of this annual event, which occurs in September.
